01:31 pm - Hierophant
I did this piece for an artshow in LA coming up in July. I am pretty happy with though it ended up a little greener than I was hoping for. The sculpture integrates anatomy models, epoxy putty, air dry clay, wire, embalmer's thread, animal bones, shark teeth, nails, cloth, polyurethane resin, and a cast bronze quail skull. It was painted in acrylics, watercolors, and inks.

08:30 pm - Bernie Wrightson Frankenstein book
I was talking with an editor from Dark Horse at the HP Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland, Oregon last October and she ended up giving me a copy of the Bernie Wrightson illustrated Frankenstein book DH published a while ago to see what I could do with it. The book is amazing and being a huge Wrightson and Mary Shelley fan, I have I have coveted it for some time. Here are the results.

The cover is sculpted in epoxy putty. I wanted something organic and yet unidentifiable. The teeth at the bottom of the book are real wolf's teeth. The skull on the front is a cold cast marble fetus skull. It seemed appropriate and I liked the contrast with the dark cover.

08:35 pm - Persona Regis 2011
This is a newly refinished version of the classic Catalyst Studios piece from 2001. Ann Koi created the concept art, Bill Movish assembled a dossier of faux historical documentation, and I sculpted it. This version is cast in cold cast marble. Photo by Ken Wagner.
